The Most Expensive College In The US for 2010

Sarah Lawrence-College. Holding the record for the most expensive college to go to with an annual cost of about $60,000. And that's not including all the extra little hidden fees such as: books, personal expenses, accident insurance, financial aid, etc. When I first saw how much it cost to attend this college I was in complete shock. Who in the world would want to pay this much money just to go to a school? Also the courses they allow the students to take are not as good as other classes in different schools such as Harvard or M.I.T.
I read more about this outrageous school that's so pricey and soon discovered why they make people pay so much. It's because the students get more one-on-one time with their teachers frequently. Sarah Lawrence-College demands a biweekly student-faculty meeting from all the students that attend the school which gives them a chance to get to know their teachers or maybe answer some questions that the teachers never touched on.

  1. Joon, I would have to agree with you. $60,000 a year seems an exorbitant price to pay for college! I'm curious; did you just stumble upon this school or had you heard about it from someone? "...the courses they allow the students to take are not as good as other classes in different schools such as Harvard or M.I.T." Based on what information? Just wondering what criteria you're using to make this claim. And lastly, now that you know why they charge that fee, do you believe it's worth it? And/or do you think the one-on-one time with a faculty member is a valuable experience for undergraduates to have?

  2. I agree that $60,000 is an outrageous amount of money to spend on a school. Do you think that more one-on-one time with teachers or faculty makes it worth spending $60,000 on a college? Why compare a school to some of the best in the country? How much more does this college cost than other?
